Will Fall’s Summer Poetry Collection

As Summer draws to a close and I return from a brief two-week break, what better time than to release some Poetry I wrote this summer?

Rescued By Grace

In times of chaos, sometimes we need others to offer their help to pull us out of the pits of despair, and (if you are religious), who is more qualified to do that than God?

Paths of Decay

Another week, another poem.
This Nature poem tells the story of a man walking through the forest to clear his head and finding something that gives him a new perspective.

Whispers of Ages

Another poem in my new writing obsession. I wrote this while organizing my Universities student newspaper and going through its extensive archive. The poem captures the weight of history as it is told through the pages of old newspapers.

March of Time

Continuing my new poetry kick, “March of Time” explores the unstoppable
nature of time and how all are subject to its power.

The Blank White Page

Guess what Will did this semester!
That’s right. I took a poetry class.
As I get back into my summer schedule, what better way to start than with a poem on overcoming writer’s block?
Here’s to a great summer!

What Happened?

As the new chapter of Guardians is still developing, it’s time for some more sad poetry. This piece was written for a literary journal that never saw the light of day. As is typical with my poetry, this isn’t a reflection of my actual mental state, just a dive into some struggles I had in the past.
Enjoy!

There’s a Voice Within My Head

This is by far the darkest of the three recently posted poems, ending on a bitter note instead of a positive one and covering a much darker topic than growing up. I feel it fitting to assure you that this is not my current mental state but is instead the result of the way things were for me a little while ago. Please Enjoy

My Eyes Once Shone Like Stars

As I have stated in a previous post, Poetry needs a particular mindset for me, and as a result, most of my poems have a darker or sadder undertone. This poem is a lament of lost innocence that a child goes through as they become old enough to recognize the world’s problems. Again, as in my last post, this is not my current mental state but rather the result of a wave of emotions I experienced a while ago. Right now, I am in a good place mentally.

Madness

Poetry is not my strong suit. I can only write it when I’m in a certain mood, and as a result, all of my poetry takes a much darker tone with more focus on mentality than my other works. I want to pause here to assure my readers that this poem was written a few years ago, and even when I was writing it, I had moved past the point in my life when I was feeling this way, so this poem is not reflective of my current mental state in any way. Now it’s just an interesting poem I wrote.
Enjoy!
