Goodness me, 2024 already!
Hey there, friends!
I have to stop coming back like this. However, I am going into my last semester of college (more on that later), so I will HOPEFULLY have more time to work on things this upcoming year (Again, more on that later).
Sorry again for dropping off the face of the earth and stuff.
Let’s look at this past year and all the blessings and struggles it brought me.
This spring, I took on the role of Editor-in-chief of my University’s Student Newspaper. While it was a fun and rewarding experience and an honor to run a club that has been operating since the early 1900s, it was also stressful and time-consuming, having to ensure that every aspect of the paper ran as smoothly as possible. I was blessed with a fantastic team that made the job slightly more manageable, but it was still challenging. However, I loved it and continued in my position throughout the year.
On top of that, I also participated in my University’s production of Into the Woods, acting as the Narrator. This was the most challenging role I have ever had, mainly because I had suggested that the Narrator remained on the stage from the opening scene to his last scene in the show, meaning I got to sit on stage with a small desk for over an hour as the play continued around me (Don’t worry, I had a water cup, and they turned the spotlight off when I wasn’t speaking for a while. The end result was excellent, but it was a challenge. That challenge was added to by the power going out on the day of our last performance, meaning that we had to do the whole show with very few lights and no microphones.
Definitely an experience I will remember.
The semester ended, and summer came and went. With no big trips planned, I worked at the Bookstore and went on dates with my Girlfriend. I also finished a rough draft of my book and sent it to a few trusted beta readers for editing, where it is to this day. I worked on various projects and prepared for my Senior Year.
I don’t know if I ever mentioned this before, but I’m a double major in History and Writing. This means that my senior year consists of not one but two capstone projects, massive papers that hopefully convince my professors that I do indeed deserve to graduate. I decided to do my History Capstone first, researching for the entire semester and writing a 24-page paper on the tensions between Britain and China leading up to the Opium Wars, an exciting and terribly sad topic. I got an A on the project, which I’m delighted with. Still, it was the most challenging assignment of my educational career.
Hopefully, the writing capstone will prove to be easier.
I ultimately came out the other side of the semester with my history degree in everything except the piece of paper, and nothing left to do officially in college except my Capstone in Writing.
I can do that for sure.
In addition to my Senior Capstone, I continued as Editor-in-chief and performed as Dr. Gibbs in my University’s production of Our Town. That play was one of my favorite shows I ever had the opportunity to participate in. All of my co-stars were fantastic actors, and we made the play come alive in ways I had never experienced before. It was a show that grew my passion for acting and made me excited to go further in the future.
And that’s pretty much it for my 2023, a quiet year filled with pretty nice moments. However, as stated above, I did not have the chance to do much work on this website or my YouTube channel. Which is where my goals for 2024 come in.
I want to make a video for my YouTube Channel once a week and a post on this site every other week. That’s a total of 26 posts and 52 videos. I’m not promising I’ll be perfect at sticking to this schedule, but I am promising that I’ll do my absolute best. Alongside this post is a video live on Will Fall Studios, where I attempt to introduce myself to the world with interesting results. You can watch that video Here!
This year will be exciting, and I cannot wait to share it with you all. I’m looking forward to making projects and growing as an author, a content creator, and a person.
Hope you stick around for the ride!
Happy New Year,
William J Fall
